Hosting

The site is hosted on DigitalOcean infrastructure in Canadian data centers. Data is stored under Canadian jurisdiction.

Intellectual property

Site content (text, graphics, source code) is protected by Canadian copyright laws. Legal documents you generate with aideTAL.ca are entirely attributed to you for personal use. Reselling or commercializing these documents is not permitted.

Terms of Use

Service object

aideTAL.ca provides an AI-based assistance tool to generate legal documents related to residential tenancy disputes in Quebec (formal notices, applications to the Tribunal administratif du logement, evidence lists, etc.).

This service is not legal advice

aideTAL.ca is a drafting assistance tool. It does NOT replace the advice of a lawyer who is a member of the Quebec Bar. Generated documents are customized templates based on your answers; you bear final responsibility. For complex disputes (harassment, significant damages, related criminal matters), consult a legal professional.

User account

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password and all activities on your account. In case of unauthorized use, contact us immediately. We reserve the right to suspend accounts in case of violation of these terms.

Pricing and billing

Current prices at the time of purchase are as follows (in Canadian dollars, taxes extra where applicable):

• One-time case — $39 (one-time payment, case access for 6 months)
• Ongoing dispute — $19.99/month (3-month subscription, auto-renewal unless cancelled)
• Small landlords — $49/month (monthly subscription, auto-renewal unless cancelled)

Refund policy

Given the digital nature of the service (immediate document generation), payments are generally non-refundable. In case of a major technical error on our part preventing service use, contact us within 7 days for a solution (free regeneration or refund at our discretion).

Limitation of liability

aideTAL.ca provides the service "as is". We do not guarantee that generated documents will lead to a specific outcome at the TAL. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the service in the last 12 months. We are not responsible for TAL decisions or indirect consequences of document use.

Termination

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Access remains active until the end of the paid period. We reserve the right to terminate an account in case of fraud, service abuse, or violation of these terms.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and applicable federal Canadian laws. Any dispute will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of Quebec courts in the district of Montreal.

Privacy Policy

Data collected

To provide the service, we collect and process the following data:

• Email address (for your account and communications)
• First name (optional, to personalize documents)
• Dispute details (questionnaire answers, descriptions, dates, parties involved)
• Payment information (handled by Stripe; we never store your card)
• Technical data (IP address, browser, login dates) for security

Use of data

Your data is used exclusively to: (1) provide the document generation service, (2) bill your subscription, (3) contact you if needed about your case, (4) prevent fraud and secure the platform. We NEVER sell your data to third parties.

Third-party processors

To function, the service uses the following processors, which may handle some of your data:

• Groq — AI generation of document content (text of your questions transmitted for processing)
• Stripe — payment processing (credit card, billing information)
• Brevo — transactional email delivery (account confirmation, invoices, alerts)
• DigitalOcean — hosting of the site's technical infrastructure

Retention period

Your cases and documents are kept as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days, unless required by law (invoices kept 6 years for Canadian tax compliance).

Your rights

Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and PIPEDA (Canada), you have the following rights over your data:

• Right of access — obtain a copy of all data about you
• Right of rectification — correct any inaccurate information
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your account and data
• Right to portability — receive your data in a structured format
• Right to withdraw — withdraw consent at any time

Security

We protect your data with: end-to-end HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (bcrypt), restricted database access, encrypted backups, 24/7 intrusion monitoring (fail2ban). In case of an incident affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours.

Cookies

aideTAL.ca uses only essential functional cookies (authentication, language preference, shopping cart). No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used on this site.
